The farm and barn:

Dale and Margaret Toukonen purchased their Windhorse Farm in Williamsfield Township to provide a setting for their retirement businesses of breeding full-size poodles and caring for horses in their “retirement years.”

Their 125-acre farm includes pastures where the retired horses graze in herds.

cropped-Windhorse-3.jpgAs with several other barns along Simons Road South, their barn includes a wooden, rectangular silo. These types of silos were easier to build than the later round ones and were constructed of wood rather than concrete, brick or metal.
